This has been a huge week for google. Not only did they release personalized search and Google video, and begin giving out Keyhole Viewer for free, but their shares topped $300! Best I can tell, the personalized search is fairly simple right now, I haven’t really seen that big of a difference in the searches I run that are personalized and non-personalized.
It occurs to me however that us “Gen-Y’ers
Well the second week of work is down. I’m still in the Capital Markets group, and I really like the people that I work with (which is important given the amount of time you spend with them). I went out to lunch yesterday for sushi with Tunde and Tom (the partner with whom I am working). The place was excellent, and dirt cheap! Last night I went to the Nats game, and unfortunately they won. After the game we went to Fado’s Irish Pub (after a slight detour past a prison and a couple of metro stops). At Fado’s we saw people from her firm, and a couple of people from my firm as well. The highlight of the evening was seeing Ellis Oster, who works for the republican something or other committee, attempting to filter soft money into their campaign chest. He explained to us that we must consolidate our loans now (which I actually am planning on doing, because the interest rates are going up.)
Earlier this week I went to Ceiba with a couple of people (including Matt and Brad — a couple of summers from work). That place had some excellent food as well, though their concept of “cheesecake
Well I went out to lunch at the Caucus Room today with Jenny, Julie and Ilana (yes I was outnumbered). The food was decent — I had a burger that was quite good. I know its a Sam and Harry’s, but I didn’t go with the steak (they were certainly a little pricey). On an entirely not unrelated note, I guess I’ve got 3 new readers 
I got two new assignments today, and both of them look like they are going to be interesting, though there is a little time pressure on one of them. Hopefully I can get things done in time.
