Server’s Back

Posted by sethbc on January 29, 2006

My server is back, and I’m back in Ithaca. My schedule for the semester is absolute cake, though for the most part I’m pleased with the classes i’ll be taking.

I’ll post some pictures of my apartment when I take some.

I finished hanging art on the walls, I’ve got my HDTV set up, and my kitchen is now in order. I think that’s pretty much everything I had to do. Things are really shaping up nicely here!

24 Part 2

Posted by sethbc on January 18, 2006

Well the second two hours of 24 were just as riveting as the first two. Unfortunately, power was out last night so I was unable to blog about it.

My server is back running ubuntu breezy right now, because I simply need the stability right now. It’s going to be out of contact for a little while (probably a week or two, due to not having internet). Hopefully after that I can put it back up online.

It’s due to be removed from life-support tomorrow late in the evening.

24 Part 1

The first episode of 24 was absolutely amazing! Now I’ve never really watched an episode before, so I had to be a little filled in on the back-story, but it was absolutely riveting!

I’m definitely going to be watching the second part tomorrow after dinner!

Colts Game

Posted by sethbc on January 15, 2006

I can’t even begin to describe how weird the Colts’ game was. I thought that it was wrapped up on the interception, I thought it was wrapped up before the Bus fumbled, but I never thought the kicker would miss that wide right. I mean, what happened? Vanderjagt really miffed that one.

Patriots Game

This Patriots game is nuts! I can’t believe Denver turned it around so fast! It looked like the Pats were going to put it in the end zone, and all of a sudden it’s 24-6.

WebKit Nightlies

Posted by sethbc on January 14, 2006

Well I decided to check out the WebKit nightlies that are up at http://nightly.webkit.org/builds/ . The nightlies are running spectacular on my 12″ PowerBook.

I’m wondering though, if they are planning on releasing nightlies for the x86 as well.

Typo Changes

Posted by sethbc on January 14, 2006

I’ve been trying to file some patches to typo in trac recently, and i’ve been fairly successful at getting the changes to work exactly the way I want!

pdcawley committed my diff for logarithmic sizing in the tag cloud, so that’s out of the way now.

Last night I worked on my sitemap.xml support, and I’m pleased to say it now supports both tag and category pages in addition to pages and articles! Now I just have to see what google says about the new sitemap.

So my friend Tim is in town, he’s back from his first semester of 1L at UVA. It was definitely a good time to hang out for a little while and BS about law school. I have barely thought about law since I left Budapest. Hell, I barely thought about it while i was in Budapest!

Tim, Evan and I went out to Moondogs for a little bit. That place is unbelievable. We only saw a couple of Woodward kids, and most of them I didn’t know.

MacBook Pro Reviews

Posted by sethbc on January 13, 2006

I’ve been reading some very positive reviews of the MacBook Pro, and I’m really happy with my purchase. Safari on the intel is supposed to be the fastest browser on any platform ever! Maybe I’ll be giving up my Camino in favor of Safari!

Oh, and my MacBook Pro is showing a ship-date of February 15th. That’s encouraging news! Apparently none of the delays associated with the MBP are due to technological concerns, but rather with delays due to supply issues (most notably the Core Duos).

MacBook Pro

Posted by sethbc on January 12, 2006

I ordered my MacBook Pro mere minutes after it was announced. I’m not showing ship dates yet on mine though (it appears some people are seeing the 15th of february as the preliminary ship date).

I’ll have to check up on it a little later, and hopefully they’ll get that information updated.

I’m a little perplexed as to the removal of the dual layer dvd burner, but that’s pretty much the only gripe i have with it.
