Basilica Cistern
Inside the Basilica Cistern in Istanbul, Turkey. I have a second shot from inside that i took vertically here.
Busy Day
I actually have a busy day tomorrow (today?)! Both the chili cook-off (with Alice) and the moot court lunch (with about nine-gagillion people — including 3 federal judges), and then I have a substantial amount of errands to do (I’m assuming with no one :-P). Unfortunately I don’t have tickets to Harvard, but I wasn’t willing to pay what people wanted to charge (which may or may not have included at least one testicle).
Tops among the items on my list of errands? Laundry, shopping, planning a menu for this week for walking that fine line (;-)), and screaming at the post office supervisor. I may have to get some Best Buy action in there, I’m running out of DVD+Rs(-Rs). By that time, I’m going to be pretty much dead to the world from exhaustion.
I’m guessing that I’ll probably be setting up the trip to Italy soon, so if you’re over in Europe any time from March 14th to March 26th, feel free to either meet me in Rome, or pick another random European city.
Oh yeah, I need to make some more prints!
Oh yeah. So apparently I have classes? And they have like, some work or something?
Camera
The camera has arrived. The quality is amazing, and the camera has a bunch of really easy to use modes in addition to the fully manual modes I wanted. The lens looks quite good, and it does take pretty stable shots in low light. The flash is what I expected, it’s good, but nothing spectacular. Obviously if I find that I really love taking shots with a flash, I’ll get one of the SpeedLites, but that’s not an upgrade I anticipate making any time soon.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the camera. If I get the chance, I’ll post some shots later tonight or tomorrow. I was planning on doing some JPEG+RAW shots, and manipulating the images a little to get a feel for the RAW image format.
